I haven't been able to get the colors from this game out of my head for a few days now

The bug happened because I was being lazy about tracking the shield The player object was controlling the shield's blipping in and out of existence, but the shield is also a real game-world tile like any other so it doesn't need anyone there in order to persist. Since the player object was wiping the shield from the grid, it was being done from his perspective. And since the game runs at only 10 FPS, inputs often get bucketed together by tick: the turnaround would always process before the shield wipe, and so it would wipe facing the wrong direction

@ranbpa0 You could add a lifetime to the shield once you turn around so it disappears after a certain amount of time, turning the bug into a new mechanic

If I owned a McDonald's it would be the #1 McDonald's in the world. A full size drive thru for the adults and a bumper car size drive thru for the kids. Of course adults can use the bumper cars too.

After prototyping my chess variant with emojis, trying to fit the pieces into the constraints of my game's grid and art style is tough. Here's my rough draft I have a lot of problems with it still. The boats don't look like boats, and really all of the piece icons are incomprehensible and intimidating like looking at a Shogi board without speaking Japanese. Right now visually they all have a team-colored puck with a glyph on top, that's it. I think I need to make fully custom art for this minigame and I can't lean on the glyph work that I already have #gamedev #pixelart #chess #tokipona
