@32watto You clearly don't watch England matches. He's had fifty caps worth of chances and has done virtually nothing. Great player - for City.

BROWDER: Putin is losing 1,000 to 1,500 men a day in Ukraine. Ukrainians have figured it out — they now have a drone wall. Anyone who tries to penetrate it dies. Simple as that. Russians are making zero progress. In fact, in some parts of the front, Ukraine is pushing them back.

This is the shot you can’t get from the press site. This camera was sitting a few football fields from the SLS rocket at Pad 39B for days before launch, baking in the Florida sun, surviving rain, humidity, and whatever else the Cape threw at it. No photographer behind the viewfinder. Just a camera, a sound trigger, and a bet. The way pad remotes work: you set your camera up days in advance, dial in your composition, lock everything down, and walk away. You don’t touch it again until after the launch. The shutter fires on sound activation with a @MiopsTrigger smart+ trigger. With SLS, the four RS-25 engines ignite six seconds before the solid rocket boosters, so the camera is already firing before the vehicle even leaves the pad. You get home, pull the card, and find out if you nailed it or if a bird landed on your lens two days ago and left your a present and you got 400 photos of soemthing crappy. There’s no formula for protecting your gear this close. Some photographers build wooden boxes with doors that pop open. Some use plastic bags and tape. Some do plastic or metal barn door rigs on hinges. I tend to leave mine open just in plastic rain covers because boxes limit my composition and setup time, but that means your cameras are more exposed to the elements and whatever energy and debris comes off the pad. You’re basically gambling a camera body every time you set one. That’s what I love about this genre. There’s no playbook. You make it up as you go. Every time is an adventure. 📸 credit: me for @SuperclusterHQ - Artemis II pad remote | ~1,000 ft from Pad 39B | Kennedy Space Center

I ask this question from time to time and it’s not one of those judgmental “why are you not having kids” posts. I could not care less if someone decides to have kids or not, or their reasons. What I genuinely don’t understand is… if you’ve decided not to have children… why are you working a traditional career? Why are you interacting with a computer all day? Why do you care at all about how much money you make? It literally makes no sense. There are only a few tiny exceptions… like you’re a caregiver for a family member or you have significant health issues. Go join the Peace Corps or the military. Go volunteer somewhere in the world. Become an EMT or a paramedic or a firefighter or a police officer. Go find a shack in the woods somewhere and write fiction for five straight years and don’t talk to anyone. Literally walk across the country. Bike around the world. Move to Greece and work on a boat ferrying tourists around the islands. Go to Switzerland and become a mountain guide. Dedicate yourself to fitness and adventure. Literally anything. You have this incredible gift of a life with no dependents. Why are you still career coded and money coded? One of the great mysteries of our time.

This is my favorite climate change chart. Japanese monks, aristocrats, and emperors kept meticulous records of cherry blossom festivals for 1,200 years and accidentally built the world's longest climate dataset.

Went in to pay for petrol, I’ve just been advised to not do long journeys if possible, and to ensure that when filling up for a journey, to make sure to have enough to get back, as you can now not rely on other stations in unfamiliar areas to have fuel. Lady in front of me in the queue says she was turned away from the Tesco garage because they had SOLD OUT! Queues for garages are spilling out onto main streets, and if you can get fuel, it’ll now cost an arm and a leg. Meanwhile, Starmer was directly asked today if we should start preparing for shortages of any kind, and of course he acted as if there is nothing going on.

@ESpeaksFreely Only 5% of the UK’s total import of oil arrives here via the Strait of Hormuz! UK supply doesn’t heavily depend on the Middle East, with most of our oil coming from Norway, the USA and our domestic operations in the North Sea. MSM Scaremongering - AGAIN!

Six months ago, Graham Potter was a figure of fun, his face being photoshopped onto some of the worst humans to walk the earth 🫧 Now he's off the World Cup and beloved in Sweden. On a human level, it's impossible not to be happy for him 🇸🇪

@pulpy @henrywinter After 50 caps? It's fine. Plays great for your team, poorly for the national team. He's not the first (Lampard), he won't be the last.

England do have talent. Just didn’t show it in the two friendlies. But they have good players. Tuchel will travel around, checking on players before naming his World Cup squad at the end of May. Here’s the 26 I’d take to the World Cup… Pickford, D Henderson, Trafford; James, Alexander-Arnold, Konsa, Stones, Maguire, Guehi, Livramento, O'Reilly, Hall; Rice, Anderson, Bellingham, Rogers, Wharton; Kane, Watkins, Rashford, Gordon, Saka, Madueke, Eze, Palmer and Bowen.  Caveats: James, Stones and Watkins have to prove form/fitness. Would have had Garner in midfield but O’Reilly can cover there (and Hall a good left-back). Overloaded with attackers for impact from bench, pens after 120/players off and need to get Watkins in.  More significantly, the man whose decisions matter, Tuchel will go with Jordan Henderson, possibly Burn, definitely no Alexander-Arnold or Maguire. Watkins at risk. #ENG

@pulpy @henrywinter Foden has 4 goals in 50 games, including qualification goal-fests. He has done almost nothing in an England shirt.

@henrywinter Another one dropping Foden because the midfield and wingers don’t have the ability to make passes into him when he’s open and free. Typical English media approach that has seen other star players left at home for more pragmatic garbage.
