If penalizing Traders was not enough, now Investors get to face the heat as well. Profitable Investors will now see an increase in LTCG, which used to sit at 10% and has been increased to 12.5%. 25% JUMP! I can say only ONE thing to the Investors - "Welcome to the club!".

STT is a joke run by jokers befooling a common man! Doubling STT on Options Trading shows how clueless (and careless) the Govt is about the ground reality of a trader. A trader is a businessman. By increasing taxes on an already profit-tight segment, it only wants to make money for itself. Why doesn't the govt REMOVE STT and increase STCG, thereby, making money, when the trader makes money himself first? And if you are thinking that it will curb options trading volume, the JOKE is on you.

The government should focus on making people educated about the stock market non on taxing heavily. Already government is taking huge STT and other charges. Again 30 percent tax is not acceptable.Totally wrong move by the government. @FinMinIndia @nsitharaman @NSEIndia @BSEIndia
