@cynthiapve I think we just have different interpretations of character motivations and a back and forth isn’t really gonna change that… neither of us hold the truth of the author’s intent and that’s just the reality of it

@ranmapaw Es lo mismo que Mousse con Shampoo, y Akane sabe lo que busca Mousse. Sabe perfecto que Ryoga muere por ella. Literalmente casi muere por su comida y le dice que es deliciosa 🤣, y ninguna persona en el mundo hace eso por ella

@cynthiapve I don’t even have a problem with Shampoo I own merch of her, I love all the characters a lot and i just get disappointed when others don’t 🥲 But i know that’s just how it goes with everything… you can’t change that. but just thank you for not resorting to insults lol

@ranmapaw Agradezco tu opinión y tu tiempo. Por último voy a decir, en la serie los principales son Ranma y Akane, y queda muy flojo el papel de ella, por eso se le “critica más”. Tan flojo que no vende, pero Shampoo lidera en ventas. Eso ya dice mucho de cómo están desarrollados.

@cynthiapve But she doesn’t know he’s in love with her that’s why I’m trying to say 😭 It’s shown over and over that she thinks he’s just a good friend despite it being obvious he has a crush on her. Akane also doesn’t understand the boys ego as shown in the Mousse fight, it’s not personal

@cynthiapve It’s just annoying seeing people inflate her bad sides to death and ignore all her good ones and then act like that’s all she is. I hope you understand that’s where I’m coming from… it’s really all a matter of opinion… I just want to understand other people’s thought process

@ranmapaw La gente se enoja con Akane porque tiene el papel de protagonista y lo desperdicia. Ella pudiera acercarse a Ranma bien, pero siempre lo sabotea porque la escribieron demasiado torpe. Entiendo que es comedia y nunca evolucionan, así es el marketing.

@cynthiapve Yes because it’s a slapstick romcom and the moment the couple gets together the series dies 🤷‍♂️ Trust me not everyone is a fan of that. But Ranma does the same thing and no one is a perfect saint in this series so it’s always just funny to me when people only get mad abt Akane

@cynthiapve And sorry to take this so seriously since it’s a comedy, but Akane doesn’t owe Ryoga anything… just because he likes her, doesn’t mean she needs to reciprocate… I just dislike this point entirely about Ryoga… she never manipulates him… she’s very oblivious, that’s the bit lol

@cynthiapve This is a perfect example of a bad faith reading, thank you! She does not understand what Ryoga’s gifts mean. She thinks of him as a friend. That’s the joke. It’s obvious to us, as readers, but not Akane. She doesn’t “use” him. Show me an example. Where’s your evidence?

@cynthiapve @LucyGenV She IS sweet with him though. It’s not a black and white situation like you’re treating it. You’re using strong language here, with words like “always”. When does she ‘always’ mock Ranma lol 😭 If she was intended to be this always negative force she would’ve been written like so

Y luego Ryoga siempre le obsequia cosas, y Akane tiene perfectamente claro lo que eso significa. Aún así lo usa. Como digo, no es perfecta y aquí abusa de una amistad.

She started out decent, had potential but then she became a caricature, repetitive and nothing was working in her favor. Shampoo is a character that's very endearing and strong to me 🩷

It’s confusing to me because you love to explore Shampoo’s character (which isn’t bad!) but will beat down other characters in the process. I don’t understand why you treat only Akane as two dimensional

@evilangelchique @cynthiapve @themercurylel Akane isn't sweet though. She's abusive, hurts others, expects people to understand her without communicating and she's also not an honest person. Kasumi is sweet. Kyoko from Maison Ikkoku is sweet 🩷 Akane is the opposite of sweet. Which is why for years she's been hated.
