The BFP says as of 5pm, the ammonia leak has been cintained. Readings conducted in areas within 100 meter radius of the ice plant indicate 0.0 ammonia. This means it is now deemed safe for residents in these area to return to their homes.

As of 2:30pm, BFP Caloocan says says based on their readings, ammonia levels remain moderate in a portion of Brgy 168 Deparo, Caloocan City. This following an ammonia leak in an ice plant that happened around 4am. Affected residents remain in evacuation centers.

During an El Niño the possibility of drier-than-usual conditions increases which can lead to negative impacts like droughts and dry spells in parts of the country.
