Even though the Moon is constantly orbiting Earth, we always see the same side. This happens because the Moon’s rotation period matches its orbit around our planet - a phenomenon called tidal locking. The side we never see from Earth is called the far side of the Moon 🌕

The Artemis II mission is the first crewed flight around the Moon in more than 50 years 🌕🚀 Astronauts will travel beyond Earth orbit aboard the Orion spacecraft, flying around the Moon and back to Earth while testing critical systems in real deep-space conditions. 📷 @nasa
