Why does any of this matter?
Because for the last fifteen years, AAA game development has increasingly spent more time figuring out how to make you psychologically dependent on a game than figuring out how to make a good game.

Im so tired of posts like this... 1. Can we not respect other genres anymore? 2. Does everything have to be an indie or singleplayer to be considered "good"? 3. Can we realize its also inherently easier to make an SP game, with lower development and upkeep costs? 4. Some of gaming's most iconic moments have also come from AAA games, lets stop acting like AAA doesnt produce good games too. 5. For as many hits we get from small studios there are hundreds of flops too.
