@DesDoherty7 @RayJCapo79 I prefer to remember how many wooden spoons they have.
English

@RayJCapo79 Get ready to be reminded how many premierships they have.
English

@hasumpstuffedup Lets hope every umpire reads this and applies the appropriate "swallow the whistle" when theWis next plays for a head-high free kick.

I've said myself that I think the HTB rule is in a bad state at the moment.
But I absolutely don't accept that this incident would be penalised 99/100 times.
Just last week we saw two high-profile similar incidents - Darling on Thomas and Lynch on Jiath also not paid HTB. 1/2

The Wizard has made his feelings known on the holding the ball non-call that would have given him the chance to put Hawthorn in front late in their draw with Collingwood. MORE 👉 bit.ly/4cFeDo6

@Ready1976 She will either - learn the dockers theme song after a win - or learn a few other words to ponder.
And @ 11 months - maybe her first memories of time with her Poppy

@ByElizaReilly @Purplearmy2018 Just dont go comparing stats of Dogga vs NicNat.
Different eras.

Luke Jackson is currently rated in the top 10 AFL players in 2026 and the league's best ruck.
So, it’s crazy to think that he once wasn’t considered the no.1 ruckman at his own club.

@hasumpstuffedup @daddyinshoes @robertcw7 @AFL So if you say "geez I thought I only got the ball and no arm" and you wave an arm towards the scoreboard with the ump around - that's 50.
Seems excessive considering the amount of swearing after a decision that clearly happens and never penalised (tv lip reading).
English

@daddyinshoes @robertcw7 @AFL It has to be directed to the umpire, in the opinion of the umpire
There's no rule against looking at the scoreboard and liking what you see
Pointing at it while talking to the ump is still 50
English

Why don’t we see free kicks against for dissent @AFL ?
Nick Daicos late in the 2nd Qtr looks at the scoreboard, whinges and throws his arms up in the air. Umpy right there next to him let alone the other 3 looking on @hasumpstuffedup 🤷🏼♂️

@nicko_316 How long til the PGA start cutting purses and $$ ?
LIV was good for the players wallets - both those that went, but also for those that stayed on pgat .
And now there is little need for the tours to evolve their products - god knows they could do with less scoreboards.
English

@FootyRhino @WestCoastEagles I thought they changed the salary cap payout rules for AFL coaches?
Surely this shows mini has had enough and wants to return to the east coast asap.
English

Bo Allan one of three players dropped by @WestCoastEagles
Jack Williams and Sandy Brock also out.
Owies, Schoenberg, Cole the inclusions.

@nicko_316 Probably complained about the roads and health system.
And he likely doesn't get the link with this and his tax-avoidance leading fk missing tax revenues and declining living standards.
Not that govts are spending the $$ wisely. ☹️

Uber driver from Mumbai has been in country for 20 years.
Tells me he's operating his backyard indian catering business for cash jobs.
He's now mortgage free with a son studying medicine.
Probably not the best person to be telling me this when I work in tax system.

@onepercentas Now ask a fan what they thought of the game on the weekend.
💯 percent they mention a decision of umpiring. Not a great mark, goal, contest.
Never as Good - not for mine.

@CorbinMiddlemas Demand and supply at work, though I reckon demand is the majority
influencer in this one.
Wait Awhile will just have to wait a bit longer for discounts from AFLhouse.

@grazinggoat66 If he could just provide the decision tree for the stand and HTB rules.
Bound copies preferred.

"... umpiring's as good as it has been for a long time"
Greg Swann needs to give a urine sample for immediate testing.
And Garry Lyon's face says it all

@hasumpstuffedup @FOXFOOTY @DavidZita1 Before each game I'd send a letter to the umpires explaining a few of my players were suffering from hearing loss. I'd list the players.
Most weeks there'd be a list of 23 suffering the affliction.
Stuffed if you actually had hearing loss.
What sound do they change this rule?
English

@FOXFOOTY @DavidZita1 This is correct. Ump adjudicated this in accordance with the offseason rule tweaks
If you dislike it, blame the rule, not the ump
English

‘IT WAS THE CORRECT ADJUDICATION’ 🤔
As @DavidZita1 explains on #AFLTonight, Greg Swann said this Ben Miller incident was correctly officiated last Friday.

@Mistadamage @Voz_Dennis Unlikely to be 100 years.
My guess is food again - viable seed?
Or maybe we revert to tulip mania? 😉
English

@Voz_Dennis It's an interesting contrast over just the last century.
100 years ago the power, struggle and global market shock was centred around availability of food.
Today it is oil.
What will it be in another 100 years?
English

The blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is not the first time a critical waterway was closed, and the world suffered a shortage of a critical commodity. It is also not the first time that Australia was asked to help open it. While this year it was the Strait of Hormuz, a hundred years ago it was the Dardanelles (Strait of Gallipoli), a strait connecting the Black Sea to the Mediterranean.
On the 31st of October 1914, the Ottoman empire (present day Türkiye) joined the war on the side of the Central Powers, led by Germany, and blockaded the Dardanelles. The Dardanelles were the only route available for Russian wheat to make its way from the Black Sea at to allies. At that point Russia and Ukraine accounted for roughly 20% of global wheat supplies, not dissimilar to the share of oil going through the Strait of Hormuz prior to the US-Iran war.
By February 1915, Chicago wholesale what prices were up 100% compared to the start of the war.
A shortage of food played a notable role when the Gallipoli campaign was being thought through by the British government and its allies in March 1915. UK food prices were running rampant, increasing by 13% in just the previous three months. At that time, Argentina was a large source of wheat for the British. However, their stocks were starting to run low due to strong exports and poor production. Meanwhile, Australia’s last crop was drought stricken.
The possibility of higher food prices and the impending need to implement tighter controls over food consumption at home helped the British decide to send its own and Australian troops, with support from France, to free up the Dardanelles. Freeing up the Dardanelles would allow large volumes of piled up Russian wheat to flow out of the Black Sea.
The campaign concluded without achieving its objectives in January 1916. Reopening vital waterways by military force is fraught with challenges and danger, whether that is in 1916 in the Dardanelles or 2026 in the Strait of Hormuz.
