@jibranulhassan_ @iiqrayousuf We should have but we failed to a large extent. It is unfortunate. But there are numerous heartwarming examples too. But i get the point, it was a collective responsibility

@poshwaer @iiqrayousuf we should have held their hand and helped them but we failed as a society. when basharat peer writes about their child in the curfewed nights it tears up my heart.

@He_isgreat1 I appreciate that you are taking the time to read about us. Regarding Kunan Poshpora, I would recommend the book Do You Remember Kunan Poshpora?, written by brave Kashmiri women who documented the tragedy and its aftermath with remarkable courage.

Not heard it before, but I don’t know how to put into words the facial expressions of my brother after I read it aloud to him. It was awkward as hell. Cringe is increasingly becoming normal in Kashmir. Pathetic, to say the least.

A new trend seems to be emerging in Kashmiri weddings, before the baraat leaves the groom calls the bride, keeps the call on loudspeaker & says, “I’m coming to take you,” & the bride replies, “Most welcome, I’m waiting for you.” Now honestly, I don’t even know what category 1/2

@iiqrayousuf Yes, as a society we have been insensitive to a great extent towards such women. That's very true.

@poshwaer I read it in the book 'curfewed nights' i remember reading it at night and jus crying because the author had written about the reaction of the society too. That part was especially grueling
