OFFICIAL LACROSSE CANADA UPDATE ON #MANNCUP2024: "Lacrosse Canada is aware of a situation related to the Victoria Shamrocks with regards to adding two players for the 2024 Mann Cup in Six Nations that begins tomorrow, Friday, September 6th. Lacrosse Canada was presented with a policy change to 24.3.2.2 at the Semi Annual meeting to allow BCLA (British Columbia Lacrosse Association) to become a Type 2 association for Sr A National Championships. This motion was carried at the sector level. However, the Board of Directors still had not voted on this policy change and an immediate vote was held yesterday September 4th, 2024 by all Board members. The requested policy change did not pass, therefore BCLA will remain as a Type 1 rating and the Victoria Shamrocks will not be able to pick up players to their roster for the 2024 Mann Cup. No further comments will be made at this time."

But all teams knew about this rule and the possibility of it happening at the start of the season. All players should have been prepared just as if the PLL guys would possibly play.

Imagine losing your spot to a guy from another team after working your balls off all year.

And no uproar about players getting bumped off the team then? What’s the solution? Because I don’t like it either. I’m just trying to see the few positives it brings.

Expect you keep every WLA team competitive to the last game of the season this way. Without bottom teams unloading top players as rentals at the TDL. Two of those Vic players that will now not be competing for the Mann cup would have 1/2

@scarbacon @AdamLeviLAX Also, it brought forward by Victoria/ league to the CLA this past offseason. The Mann cup has a seperate agreement. The CLA has had the rule in place but not the WLA policy
