@YuGiOh_TCG Thank you, Takahashi-san, for giving me some of the happiest memories of my life. I will always be a fan of the characters and world you created, as well as the card game that became it's heart. I've made so many friends and wonderful memories thanks to you. RIP and thank you.

On a strictly formal level alone this painting should be screaming to you that it was created after the invention of digital photography

@ravduu @nocontextmemes Yeah, and it was his fault in the first place that the Wonka yelled at them. He didn't even so much as apologize for stealing the drinks

@ravduu @nocontextmemes Rose was also willing to deceive a man into marriage so her family could steal his wealth, only to immediate cheat on him, then abandon safety so she could “save” Jack by slowing him down.

@lawyerkev @nocontextmemes I’ll admit, it’s pretty shitty towards her family. But that’s the logic you gotta suspend your belief for if you wanna buy into the “soulmates” concept of the starcrossed lovers that’s being told. If it were a real person, that’d be super shitty though.

@ravduu @nocontextmemes You skip over the fact that she married, had children, apparently had a full life, but then came back to spend eternity with the Wharf rat that she had a one week fling with. If that's not a rejection of her husband & children and the family she built then I don't know what is.

@ravduu @ThatCrazyGuy55 @nocontextmemes Dude has a point. Forrest gave consent under false pretense unaware of her STI. While it's not violent forced intercourse and so far at the edge of the definition as to be difficult to prove legal punishable intent it's still some scum fuck shit to do and deserving of hate.

@Starbreakersohi @nocontextmemes Grandpa Joe acted how pretty much anybody would at that point, when Wonka pulled that dick move with the whole “You get nothing! You lose!” moment. He didn’t know it was a test, he just knew the man had just screamed in his grandson’s face.

@ravduu @nocontextmemes Grandpa Joe also stole Wonka's Fizzy Lifting Drink, nearly getting him and Charlie killed, and then was willing to give "Slugworth" the Gobbstopper, which would have especially screwed the family over considering it wasn't actually Slugworth but a plug hired by Wonka

@ravduu @nocontextmemes Except in the movie he did not spare any expense and everything only fails because nedry's sabotage. You can argue that Hammond should have paid nedry more, but otherwise jurrasic park wouldn't fail if not for a perfect storm of actual storm and nedry's sabotage.

@RGameplayXtreme @nocontextmemes I'm not sure which character change from the books to the films was more egregious, John Hammond or Henry Wu. Both of them really crystalized the themes of why Jurassic Park was a bad idea, yet both were completely changed.

@ravduu @nocontextmemes She knew that was his assumption and knew she wouldn't and still did it. Rape by deception is a thing. You support rapists

@LaTar_illBae @ThatCrazyGuy55 @nocontextmemes Forrest also had a great role model for single parenthood in his own mother, who was extremely devoted and willing to do anything for her son. And Forrest's immense wealth would also allow him to ensure his son gets a very good education outside of what Forrest himself can teach.

@LaTar_illBae @ThatCrazyGuy55 @nocontextmemes I respectfully disagree there. Forrest was an extremely capable person who achieved many great things, even if he was quite simple mentally. He's very considerate to his son's needs, teaching him, reading to him, and consistently (verbally) reaffirming his love for him.

@ThatCrazyGuy55 @nocontextmemes If you're going to argue that Forrest is incapable of consent (or withdrawing consent), then I suggest you look back at the scene on New Year's Eve with Lt. Dan and the prostitutes. One of them attempts to engage with Forrest and he very physically rebuffs her advances outright.

@ThatCrazyGuy55 @nocontextmemes Forrest's autism was not so severe to the point that he was incapable of understanding or providing consent. While there are people with more severe autism who cannot understand, and therefore not consent, Forrest was not one of those people.

@ThatCrazyGuy55 @nocontextmemes Had Jenny sought professional treatment (ie. institutionalized), in the 60s or 70s, she likely would've been lobotomized. It's essentially exactly what happened to my great aunt Sue in the 70s, after she fell into a depression after being forced to marry her rapist as a teenager.

@ThatCrazyGuy55 @nocontextmemes Jenny's escapism is a lifelong habit she formed as a child, best highlighted in the scene where she hid from her father in the corn field with Forrest and prayed to be turned into a bird so she could fly far away. That was how she lived her whole life.
