Went to my aunts today for Eid. It’s tradition, after Ramadan, to have a big feast, invite family, laugh, catch up, just like any other holiday. In our culture the younger kids will go up to the adults, kiss them on the hand & say “Bajram Barecula”. The adults will then hand the kid some money. 💵 In recent years, as I have gained my own status in the family, I’ve become that adult. Little cousins kissing my hand. Me handing out money. Full circle moment. My first savings, as a kid, came from these types of get togethers. It is wholesome. 💡It’s also interesting to see how the levels of respect, shift and change the wiser, more established and more successful you become. My parents, brother, aunts, uncles and cousins all see the shift. They know what I’m about. What I do for myself and my immediate family. I’ve proven myself. The growth. The businesses. The investments. The personal life. The opinions. For some years now they haven’t spoken to me like a kid or young man, they would speak to me like an equal. But now? They know what time it is. Now they’re asking me for advice. Work. Finance. Real estate. Business. College. It’s very interesting tbh. 🤝🏼 P.S. ngl, when the little cousins were kissing my hand for money. @rawknuckle @alz_zyd_ Each kid is about 2 years and 4 month apart. Not problem free I suppose as they were by c section and I had gestational diabetes with 2 of them. All 3 babies were healthy. The youngest 2 and a half now.
