This is a main route to the Lincoln tunnel. 2 lanes to tunnel will back up while a truck unloads = gridlock. DOT states that this design “requires a 20% reduction in all vehicles” incl. buses. But UberEats and DoorDash need more free ebike parking, so nothing else matters.

@WUTangKids Bank of America is not expanding because they co-own the building with the Durst Organization. this is their commitment to fully utilize their own asset. Look closer - only a handful of small retail tenants remain in the building.

i used to own an apartment in New York when i left the city, i considered renting it out but laws in NYC horrendous for landlords so i let it sit empty and then sold it would rather lose money than spend tens of thousands litigating in a city that truly hates asset owners

Yesterday, I attended an Irish heritage event where NY AG Letitia James decided to use her remarks to discuss illegal immigrants. Here’s what struck me as odd about her unqualified adulation: Six days after terrorists threw IEDs at a crowd in New York, and one day after terrorists committed two additional attacks across America, there was not one word about what the Attorney General would do to protect New Yorkers from terrorism. Five days after a violent criminal who was in this country illegally and staying in a city shelter, receiving city services—despite multiple prior arrests and deportations—pushed two innocent New Yorkers onto the subway tracks, leaving one brain dead, there was not one word about what the Attorney General would do to protect New Yorkers from crime. What is Letitia James doing while crime and terrorism are on the rise? Sheltering violent criminals who are here illegally, targeting cops, and pursuing a partisan political agenda. I’m the daughter of immigrants. My parents came here lawfully and taught me to love America. I went to Harvard (twice), had twins (twice), and prosecuted criminals and terrorists (hundreds of times). I devoted my life to protecting New York and America, and giving back to this country that gave my family so much. Letitia James cares about protecting criminals. I care about protecting New Yorkers. That’s what’s on the ballot in November.

@VickieforNYC You know what, I support this idea. Ultimately all renters should be working toward this goal anyway, why not help them?

Maybe the goal should be to turn more renters into homeowners through policy that helps poor people move upwards, instead of normalizing the idea that property ownership is somehow a moral defect? But if people weren’t kept poor and angry, progressives wouldn’t have any power.
