If the rumours are true, and 9 more MPs cross after the by-elections on Monday, that is scary and sad. Going from a 169 seat minority to a 182~183 seat majority in 6 months is scary for our democracy. I don’t think people will be happy if that comes to fruition.

With Gladu gone, Carney doesn’t even need Terrebonne anymore. After the by-elections, regardless if he wins Terrebonne, he will have a functional majority and will likely prorogue quickly to gain a majority in the committees. And we will have a majority liberal government.

Prime Minister Mark Carney has already said on camera that proroguing Parliament for partisan advantage isn’t even something he’s entertained, and that he absolutely would not do it.
