If you're heading to the Pacific Islands, take extra care - dengue fever cases are soaring. Protect yourself by: ✅ Wearing light-colour, long-sleeve clothes ✅ Using insect repellent < 35% DEET ✅ Avoid swampy areas/standing water ✅ Sleep under mozzie nets/in screened rooms.

As the sun rises on a new week here in Ahuriri, I’d urge you to keep the city in your thoughts. The adrenaline is subsiding and people are beginning to crumble. The trauma of Tuesday morning and the devastation of losing everything is hitting home.

It is a bit funny that no longer I need a USB key for @SteinbergMedia applications as they released HALion 7 but @Twitter has started recommending to use one. It would be convenent if I can use this one for the latter. (I opted to Authenticator app, anyway.)

Once the adrenaline starts wearing off, you could be experiencing a range of physical reactions, too – feeling shaky, queasy, having no appetite, or struggling to concentrate. This is all completely normal and understandable.

It continues to be an immensely challenging time for many of us. Going through a natural disaster can take a significant toll on our wellbeing, but everyone will respond differently to the shock. You might notice your feelings are changing day to day, or even hour to hour.

@AsthmaFndation advise anyone with a respiratory condition should keep out of mouldy and flood-damaged homes if possible. If exposure can’t be avoided, wear eye protection and a respirator mask or disposable, tight-fitting dust mask. Keep safe. ❤️ 3/3

If you can, the best thing to do is open all doors and windows to let outside air circulate for as long as possible, using a fan if necessary. Water-damaged buildings can develop mould quickly if not dried out properly. 2/3
