Philip of Macedon had a brilliantly simple insight that was obvious in hindsight: make longer spears. His 16-foot sarissa hard countered the traditional 8-foot Greek spears, gaining military dominance overnight.
Similarly, the US military's carrier-driven strategy has ruled for decades, and I wonder -- what'll be the hard counter to our strategy, and will we adapt quickly enough to stop it?

given an omniscient, perfectly efficient government, what would be the appropriate penalty for:
- coughing without covering your mouth
- cutting in line
- not washing hands after using the bathroom
- not washing hands after using the bathroom (#2)
- passing gas in a crowded elevator

Twitter was 16 years old and had 7500 employees when Elon cut 80% of its workforce
Makes you wonder how much can be cut from other companies:
- UnitedHealth: 400k employees, 48 years old
- Microsoft: 127k employees, 50 years old
- Bank of America: 213k employees, 101 years old
- Boeing: 156k employees, 109 years old
- IBM: 300k employees, 114 years old
If most people can be cut, then large corporations are providing a de facto welfare state for the American people

Why isn't traffic enforcement entirely automated?
In Shenzhen, cameras will monitor red light violations, jaywalking, illegal parking, and more.
Facial recognition might be politically infeasible in the US, but license plate recognition is already widely accepted.
Cameras are cheap, especially compared to $200k/year human eyes. We should easily be able to detect speeding, traffic light violations, parking violations, and even reckless driving.
