@manast I use dithering in sparse pockets, but never been a big fan of large fields of checkerboard.

@manast I think dithering comes across better on a crt, and has fallen out of fashion more for that reason than a lack of awareness. Some artists still prominently use it to great effect, yet more selectively, and with more creative patterning than in the past.
