@plgbm @AKBets I think the main issue we have is firms ( vast majority) are not employing people with the knowledge and understanding of the product. Therefore theres very little apoetite or confidence in taking business.
There are except to this and i applaud them but they are in the minority.

@AKBets Agree Anthony. However, if the books paid a decent attention to the bigger races, instead of lazy copy & paste robot prices, then there would be more meaningful take-up in turnover. Its not rocket science.

There was a really interesting point made on this excellent podcast. The greyhound derby has allowed punters to get bigger bets on. The firms believe they have an edge over punters, so lift regular restrictions on accounts and allow bigger wagers. #Beautiful

Mongys Wild (Ned) is back home and in good spirits after his operation to fix the injury he sustained in the TV Trophy final on Saturday ❤️
Thank you to Sammy and Diego at Towcester, Stefano Malegori and to all who have messaged and asked after him, it was gutting to see his fantastic career end that way but most importantly he’ll make a full recovery and have a very happy retirement!
A true superstar of the sport on the track we will miss seeing him race but are thankful of the memories he has given us in his very successful career🏆 He’s a real character in the kennels too and absolutely loves his cuddles which he’ll be getting plenty of whilst he recovers❤️

I’ve wondered this for a while but the @RacingPost suggests every race in SA is wide open - one is 10/1 the field. But the opener went to a 1/4 fav! Any thoughts? @RacingPostCS

@EddieGoodall8 Understand your pain Ed.
The only thing keeping me connected to it is how much i love the actual breed.
Everything else i hate.

@EddieGoodall8 Yes all good thanks Ed just chugging along a bit at the minute.
If he was short like 5/4,11/8 yes with all that you have said i would want take him on but the gap in the market with some is just too big.

@razor2932 Norm for dogs in stripes round the gaff. He,d be very short to place or be second to the fav. Just his awkwardness amongst dogs I,d be layer in both markets. I take on board an respect your thoughts but he,s not for me from stripes. Hope your well ray.
English

@borowatty Yes.. im not one for the clock being the gospel but its just a huge run.
Cannot possibly be bigger than 6/4.
English

@razor2932 MW hasn’t got near that time around #Towcester
MW has quicker 695 runs #Hove
Problem for DR is the draw with the EP of 4 and 5 on his inside, however if he can track them round he has a great chance on last nights run
Agree with you i would rather chance DR then MW at prices

To many, Clares Rocket was one of the fastest greyhounds on the planet. But at Riverside Kennels, he was so much more than that.
In the kennel, Rocket was a pleasure to train. He lit up the place wherever he went and was the bounciest, most playful dog in the yard. At one point he lived with the great Ballydoyle Honey and what a pair they were together.
On the track, he achieved so much. In 2016 he won the Produce Stakes and Champion Stakes before reaching the 2017 English Derby Final. Injury sadly stopped him from making the Irish Derby Final and although he never went to stud due to being infertile, we’re sure there would have been plenty of “baby Rockets” lighting up tracks everywhere.
Retirement soon brought him to life on the sofa or more often, any bed he could find! At first he stood waiting by his kennel door wanting to go back in and be part of the team again, but he soon settled into home life.
Rocket quickly became best friends with (Garryvoe) Bobby, who followed him everywhere, even up the gallop on morning runs. Rocket also had a habit of breaking the house rules, regularly getting caught on sofas and beds he wasn’t supposed to be on but that soon changed!
In summer, he would wake the house by starting the kennel choir howling along with him and if you were sitting down inside, he’d stand in front of you demanding strokes until he got them. He was particularly fond of rain water as well!
Then came Cadbury the Labrador. Rocket became the perfect big brother, teaching him how to be naughty and open the baby gate! Cadbury adored him and always wanted to be just like him. Later came Twirl and Rocket’s calm nature helped her settle in from day one.
It’s fair to say his favourite person was Graham. Whether travelling to the UK during his racing days or relaxing at home years later, they were best mates. And if you ask Graham today, he’ll still tell you Clares Rocket was the fastest dog he ever trained.
Rocket sadly passed away last week. He will never be forgotten, not only for his incredible speed and excitement on the track, but for the love, joy and laughter he brought to our family every day.
Sleep well, Rocket man. We all miss you 🚀❤️
