If everyone were like me, slaughterhouses, butcher shops, delicatessens, the dairy industry, egg merchants, fish farms, fishmongers and fishermen, leather and fur traders would have closed their doors long ago, and animals could sleep peacefully without fear of tomorrow. 💔🙏😔

@JasperManUtd @WriterHannahBT Yes, Susan, it's a shame. Here's a photo of a neighbor's balcony. They used to go out onto it often. Now, look what's become of the table and chairs. It's a real mess. First bird of my day: a jackdaw walking up a roof with a stick and then diving into what is obviously its home. When I looked around, every roof had a jackdaw carrying a nesting stick and doing similar things. #firstbirdofmyday #whatsyours

#LolekTheSeratineBat update: after a vet checkit turns out our Lolek is not the youngest lad but is still healthy. He’s eating well but he’s fussy & will only eat if he’s fed mashed up mealworms, lazy boy 😹 He’ll stay at the rescue until nighttime temperatures are warm enough 👍

The first of our Horse Chestnut trees is bursting into life! Despite the freezing temperatures this winter & the sodden soil in the pots, all our saplings seem to have made it into their third year. This one has a head start - it obviously enjoys the warmer temps on the balcony
