@primo21_ @akarol Both can be true, and they are. There’s the $550 a month family Civic and the $2k a month family Escalades. Both play into the average. BUT, some folks are also paying $850 for that Civic too.

@Rifnos_ There’s variables at play too. Credit score, vehicle type, location, down, loan terms…this is the average, so some are lower, some are higher. But financial irresponsibility plays a part too, those shiny $100k Jeeps are worth it for some folks at $2k+ a month.

@rceclipseg2 What are the details behind that payment? A lot goes into it. The trade in vehicle, was he negative? The credit? The type of vehicle? A lot goes into getting a number that high. I Finance 2 high end cars plus insurance, and I'm just under a thousand a month.

This is the result of people buying vehicles they can't afford, in order to look like they have something, instead of staying within their means. Things are expensive, because poor people are stupid with their money.

@rceclipseg2 Over the last 10 years we've seen the downfall of the middle class. If you did not own your home, or be well off 10-15 years ago, you are struggling now. It seems the system was built that way. It's just been accelerated to an extreme point
