Because I'm "black" and "gay," I'm supposed to be OVERJOYED about whatever the DEMOCRATS are doing. Here's the thing: I don't support violent protests. I don't support illegal immigration. I don't support attacking law enforcement officers. I don't support people from other countries stealing my tax dollars. I don't support defunding the police so crime can run rampant. I don't support mayors and governors who enable chaos and rebellion against federal law. I don't support identity politics that assume my views based on my skin color or sexuality. I don't support a party that prioritizes illegals over American citizens like me. I don't support government run on race and racism. On this specific point… Raven is asking a legitimate question about identity and assimilation in America. Most White Americans like my mother whose families have been here for generations simply identify as “American” now, even if their ancestry traces back to Sicily, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Poland, England, or elsewhere. So many Black Americans understandably ask: Why are we still being psychologically separated from plain American identity generations later? That question matters. Because constantly hyphenating identity can unintentionally reinforce permanent tribal division instead of national unity. At some point the country has to decide: Are we Americans first… or endless demographic subgroups caste systems competing against one another forever? Now politically, I disagree with many Democrat narratives surrounding ethnicity, victimhood, and identity politics because I believe they often deepen division rather than heal it. But truth is truth regardless of party. And on this issue, many Americans across racial lines quietly agree with her: There is nothing wrong with proudly being American. Not “perpetual grievance American.” Not “hyphen first, country second.” American. That does not erase heritage or ancestry. It simply places national identity above tribal fragmentation. Nothing about this behavior is acceptable. We as a whole, have a problem. A LARGE portion of black parents in this country ARE NOT doing their jobs. This is just a fact. We need to be much better. It’s really that simple. Better mindsets, better decisions, more accountability. Less blaming history, racism, and white people.
