Inferential model fit tests for SEM are so nice that we did it twice! @rcribbie and I developed an equivalence testing based version of SRMR: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39154220/ with an R function available now on the negligible package!

Are you looking for a better inferential test for model fit in SEM? Equivalence testing based versions of RMSEA and CFI might be what you are looking for: osf.io/gsazf/ So proud of @natalyberibisky for all her great work on this paper!

6/ This is all going to come together for her final project that I'm really excited about Mapping the Multilevel Multiverse, which will connect elements of transparency and decision making for complex models -- if that sounds interesting, stay tuned for @maireadkshaw next paper!

Let me tell you about @maireadkshaw who is a freshly minted Phd candidate in quantitative psychology at McGill University! I met Mairead when she was an undergrad in my multilevel modeling class. Lucky for me she got interested in doing a PhD and decided to stay at McGill... 🧵1/

@alephlove Thanks, but I am in the hospital to keep my wife company. She had brain surgery, and a few days later needed to return as she got meningitis. It's pretty tough, but she's a bit better today. I worked on this while she slept to recover during the last week.

Methods Twitter folk: I’m struggling to remember a citation, where the author’s perspective is basically: “don’t use complex analyses (e.g., SEM) over simple ones (e.g., t-tests)”. Ring a bell for anyone?
