There's a great Doonesbury cartoon about Roland Hedley and the gang drawing lots to see who got to shout the inaudible question to Ronald Reagan as he ducked towards the helicopter. I can't find it right now but trust me there is.

April 23rd 1969, Herman's Hermits released a song called "My Sentimental Friend", becomes a major European hit, reaching number two on the UK pop chart. In the US however, the band was now hopelessly out of style and one of the best songs they ever recorded was ignored completely.
