America works because we reward growth, not resent it. Ken Griffin and his staff have paid apx. $2.3 billion in city and state taxes to New York in the last few years. He has personally directed $650 million in charitable gifts to city institutions AND continues to invest in the city despite not living there. If your goal is to help everyday workers and families, you’re going after the wrong people. You don’t fix affordability or housing by punishing success and driving out the very people creating jobs, opportunity, and tax revenue. That’s why Florida will keep booming, we welcome your jobs and investment here with open arms!

Duty, Honor, Country are the principles that have shaped generations at United States Military Academy. I had a great conversation with these cadets about leadership and resilience that I hope were insightful as they continue in that legacy.

It was incredible welcoming cadets from the United States Military Academy at West Point to the Bath Club. As part of their studies in government and leadership, I had the privilege of sharing lessons from my own path, serving this country in a different way, by building businesses, creating jobs, and leading through adversity. I’m grateful to have been a small part of their journey as they prepare to lead our Army at the highest level.

Inspiring morning at CARE Elementary in Overtown, Florida, a school I helped found and continue to support. When we first opened, only 11% of students were reading at grade-level. Now, that number is 92% and rising. Many of our students come from challenging circumstances, including families facing economic hardship. Here, they are met with structure, love, and high expectations. They get a top-tier education grounded in Christian values, and they rise to the challenge, going on to succeed at the best middle schools. That’s the power of charter schools and building education the right way.

My grandpa was a hotel doorman who raised five daughters on his own for much of their lives. My other grandpa was a janitor. My father was a mechanic, and my mom started as a secretary and rose against the odds. My story is only possible in America. But even more miraculous, here in the U.S.A., many have moved mountains in just one generation. That’s the American dream. But if we want America to continue being the exceptional place that it is, we must fight to ensure all have the opportunity to access it.

As a teenager working on mayoral campaigns, I learned that everything starts local. Tangible change starts on the community and city level. That’s where real leadership begins.

This recent @WSJ piece warns that rising costs in Florida are pushing out the middle class. The middle class is the backbone of America’s economy, especially here. Growth is great, Florida can write the manual in how to attract business and capital. Now, we need to make sure that growth is paired with opportunity across the board, especially for families in the middle. wsj.com/economy/florid…
