After a few technical hitches, Class 4 are back! Delilah brought in her dad’s army equipment to help us understand more about Remembrance Day. We were fascinated. Later we made poppies and learned why we wear poppies as a sign of remembrance. @WhitegateSch @TransformTrust2

This afternoon we’ve explored the different ways we can shape, smooth and create texture in clay in preparation for our modelling lesson next week. Some of the children were naturals already ☺️ @readandtaylorWG

Today was one of those days that I love my job… year 1s excited faces as we followed the footprints, found a big pile of dinosaur poo and a huge egg was magical! We screamed with excitement and terror as we heard a terrifying roar! @WhitegateSch @TransformTrust

Music day! We had fun on the glockenspiels exploring pulse, tempo, dynamics, rhythm and pitch. Later we had a go at composing our own music. @WhitegateSch @TransformTrust

It’s scary how fast time flies! Summer was a superstar and a pleasure to teach in year 1 and her attitude towards school and life in general will see her go far. I’m sure she has smashed her SATs this week and know she has a very promising future ahead of her.

We couldn’t believe we were allowed to write on the on the tables this week!😳 Maths was much more fun sharing cubes between the people we’d drawn and showing how repeated addition was linked to multiplication.@WhitegateSch @TransformTrust @MrsLloydWG

To end our topic of “Toys through the years” we have brought some toys in to play with our friends. This includes some of the games we have learnt about along the way. A favourite is definitely the skipping. ☀️ @WhitegateSch

Finally we made our own toys. We’ve had a wonderful day and learned so much about toys in the past. Who needs electronics when simple toys are lots of fun? 🤣 @WhitegateSch @TransformTrust

Parlour games. Surprised by how much fun you can have with a metal ring and a large piece of string! Who is hiding the metal ring ?We also made each other laugh with the game poor pussy cat and tested our memory with a games of In Granny’s trunk. @WhitegateSch @TransformTrust

Next we played with old outside toys. Skipping was our favourite but we weren’t very good at it! We are hoping to invest in a large rope for ks1 yard to practice! @WhitegateSch @TransformTrust
