@angryasian @cyclingtips All clear. What about comfort over performance? Would you still go for one of the 3 above?

@readcalamaro @cyclingtips Depends. Pure performance? Carbon 100%. Performance on a budget? Aluminum all the way. Looking for higher performance but still worried about dents? Titanium. Steel can be great, but higher-performance variants usually also have very thin tube walls that are prone to denting.

@angryasian @cyclingtips Completely agree with you: don't like fanboy material conversations in general. But, tell me more about your opinion on that, James: what's your favorite material? And for what use would you recommend this material or another?

@cyclingtips @readcalamaro I like steel bikes in general, but I also don't find them to be the mythical beasts many claim they are. Great option if impact resistance is high on the list, but I usually prefer other materials personally.
