well written fics will have you traversing through kinks you never thought to explore, i read a 300k word pet play fic yesterday because the writing was so good, i reached the end and still didn’t know if i fully enjoyed the pet play part but i absolutely get it now

okay genuinely curious, why do some ppl not read author’s notes? theyre generally not that long, sometimes the author includes details that may be worth knowing before you read, and the occasional special thank you is sweet, so i have to wonder what one loses by reading them.
