@realTonyStark12 @BethellBlaster I thought Rew's keeping was very ordinary. Lots of diving and stretching, not a lot of footwork. Pretty cheap dismissal too. Needs to be a big improvement for me.

Phillips ducked 99 balls from Archer, while Rew got dropped and still kept charging the short ball. Proper brainless cricket.

@JC_1973 @Alasdair333 I don’t take county cricket or Sheffield shield cricket too seriously. Many blokes in both comps look like gun cricketers then struggle when they get a go in internationals. Something is always missing

@alanatshipley @FreyaWoods8 Ugliest of the Fab Four to watch but it all comes down to stats and achievements. I think smith averaging 60 for a long time helped him and roots list of bad tours in Australia hurt him, but roots closed the gap a lot in the last 6/7 years

@jrodbourn @samuelsmith1988 I know it wasn’t completely amateur in the 90’s but I swear we get less unique characters and independent thinkers the more “professional” the game gets. I’d take someone like bumble over many recently retired pros

@samuelsmith1988 Sky struck gold with Nasser and Atherton. Perhaps they think they can keep doing it, and to be fair Broad has been enjoyable since joining. But they might be pushing it a bit with some of these others.

@Merlin3711 @jamiepersonaI I think every team is best when it’s best team for the format. Heck, pick the most Alastair cook like player tests even if it means he’s crap at the short form games. They try to find an all format super star and those blokes are super rare

@realTonyStark12 @jamiepersonaI Potentially but at the minute it seems like we are shoehorning him in to all formats to prove a point almost. Theres quite a few players that are much better at red ball cricket missing out because of this obsession.

@jamiepersonaI He just lacks the test cricket mindset for me. Doesn’t seem to be able to accept he cant score every ball. Needs to try to play safer shots and rotate the strike. Not sure he’s able to hand the pressure of test cricket either. Still young so we will see.

@CricketNischal Umpire doesn’t give it out if he attempts a real shot. If we saw him attempt a real block and miss it I think the umpire gives him benefit of the doubt

@bennyisles @SeaEagleSpur Madge is that person who changes job every 2-3 years. His coaching style is great for the shorter timeframe of origin, and internationals. Dude seems to be great at getting that extra effort from guys at the start but it just ends wearing people out when it’s not a one off

@bennyisles @SeaEagleSpur It’s not amateurs. It’s lack of reasons. Billy started as an amateur coach and showed he’s got the ability. How they didn’t learn the lesson first time with Daley is beyond me. They should’ve fought harder to keep Madge
