I’ve noticed something when it comes to posts with anything trans-related. They always post a picture of someone who looks like a man in lipstick(99% chance the pic they use ain’t even a trans person and it’s just some dude on Halloween lol) , like i get some people are trying to spread the propaganda of “we can always tell” , “trans=man in lipstick” etc, but bruh at least base your opinions on something more common or factual. This would be the equivalent of making a post titled “men have the right to vote in X country” and using the picture of a man who has some form of visible mental disability for it implying that all men who can/will vote are like that, therefore implying that their judgement is not correct/accurate etc. I’m not sure if that’s like the best example to make an analogy but anyone with atleast a bit of common sense can understand my point without looking for reasons to act mad. Which point is, stop using the very select few examples to generalise whole groups of people.

My son came out as trans six months ago and his father hasn't looked at him since. Just walks past him in the hallway like he's invisible. My boy is 17, sleeping on our couch because his dad changed the locks on his bedroom door, said he won't have "that confusion" under his roof. I've been crocheting this trans flag blanket for three weeks straight, working on it after everyone goes to bed. Got the pattern and colors through someone on a shop who understood exactly what I needed without me having to explain the whole awful story. The stitches aren't perfect because my hands shake now from the stress, from lying in bed next to a man I don't recognize anymore. My son watches me work on it sometimes, doesn't say anything, just sits there picking at his nails the way he does when he's trying not to cry. Last night he asked if I was making it for someone and I told him yeah, for the bravest person I know. He figured it out then. Started sobbing. I'm finishing this tonight and tomorrow morning I'm waking him up early before his father gets up. We're packing his stuff, taking my car, and we're leaving. I already found us an apartment. Small, but it's ours. I even set him up his own little corner on my shop so he can sell the clay figures he makes, give him something that's his. His dad can keep the house and his hatred. We're choosing us. This blanket is going to be the first thing in our new place, draped over our second hand couch, proof that someone saw him and loved exactly who he is. We're going to make it.
