@dannydietrich @thebriansmith I can’t tell if you’re serious or joking, but that would be kind of awesome if you “lightened” the thick axle, and then win a race the first weekend out RUPW phones will be ringing off the hook with people ordering those new axles

@thebriansmith You know... maybe I will drill some vent holes in my axle... I never thought of that.

I thought this is why we went to thicker axles. "Tech guys" are idiots. So far in 2026 things being mandated to the racers are a huge waste of time & money. Soon maybe they'll figure out that the title of "tech official" doesn't mean they're "smart enough" to control this stuff.

@TheRestartCone I believe the 358s should always go first. I’ve been asking for that for years. Run the 410s last. The track would be wider AND the kids could get into the pits before the teams load up

@TheRestartCone I would like to see one modification ⬇️ A session of Hot laps and then bring them all back out for group time trials. It’s only 3-4 extra laps on the cars and shouldn’t be a big time expense with all the push trucks the Grove gets

@DaveJAndrews @ripjetson9 @felipesdad I’m fairly certain at the 2025 PRI show, somebody had an example of a seat with the belt mounted to it and the sprint car council would not allow it for use in 2026

At PRI a couple years ago I ask the question- if the seat compresses down, doesn't it spring back up and throw the driver into the belts? The answer was absolutely wild... it's minimal at best. @felipesdad had a GIF of a spring flexing, and wobbling... That's the human body in a wreck. Belts mounted to the seat is a start. Driver and seat become more of a singular unit that can move around a little. x.com/felipesdad/sta…

RANDOM THOUGHTS! In 20yrs of fixing crashed race cars ive had 2 that i have thrown away, couldn’t fix them cause the damage was too deep In the last 5yrs i have thrown away 5 or 6 cars a year so call it 25 cars. Now im not a fucking rocket scientist but that is a pretty good spike in a graph. The damage is getting too deep in the cars for me to fix. Guess what else is sitting deep in the car Im not sure the years all this took place but we have mandated 095 wall bottom rails, 083 wall hip rails, cage safety bars, we have switched from 1” lower seat bars to 1 1/4” seat bars. Now we couple that with stronger (stiffer) seats, moulded foam around the driver, ratchet strap seat belts and im not sure its all working together. Obviously its not all working together when u think last year we had like a dozen high profile drivers injured at the same time. Never in history do recall that scenario and we are supposedly the safest we’ve ever been??? When the car gets stiffer the loads transfer deeper, when the seat gets stiffer the body cant bend it to decelerate, when the seats are molded to fit the body can’t wiggle in the seat, when the belts are ratchet tight the body can’t slide down in the seat just a little to give or make room. When the body cant move left to right because it is contained within a tube the force it all directed in an up/down motion within the tube If the seat mounts compress 1/2” in a downward hit (sure it absorbs the initial blow) but does the system coil bind at the exact moment of peak g load in the body? Now if the seats move and the belts loosen what happens on the rebound? Does the body slam back up into the shoulder harness again? You ever see a mean dog at the end of his chain pulling trying to get you. Alot of force but very comfortable to the dog. Now switch that to the dog running after u and reaching the end of the chain. Its rather violent and snaps the dog backwards with high forces on his body. Does the same thing happen when the body comes back in contact with the loose shoulder harness? Does a 1” lower seat bar have just enough give and absorb as opposed to 1 1/4” bar? Are the seat mounting points getting too high in the car at the back letting the seat collapse. Hell i don’t know. And remember there will always be what i call the 20yr crash that nothing will fix I encourage seat belt manufacturers, seat builders, car builders, sanctioning bodies, drivers, drivers that crashed in the 90’s and the 2020’s, insert makers, helmet makers, floating seat system manufacturers, and anyone with general common sense to respond below ⬇️

@ripjetson9 @infieldsucks If only we had a governing body such as a sprint car council that could investigate these matters and perform data acquisition and draw educated conclusions to where changes could be implemented for safety

@JohnnyWingo 1. Get rid of the HANS and go back to foam neck collars 2. Seatbelts mounted to the seat and not the frame of the car so that the seat, belts and driver have an equal amount of vertical movement 3. Install seats with more angle instead of straight up and down

2 back injuries with the same driver who runs the seat belt bump stop gizzmos. Maybe they kept it from being worse, maybe they do nothing. More data, more transparency in crash data, it’s more important to save more sprint car drivers asses. Let’s have a civilized discussion.

The @HighLimitRacing series has such a good product. Legitimately zero clue who is going to be good or bad from night to night. Your 15th in points and 1st in points can both win at any given time. Complete unpredictability through the field. It’s exactly what draws a fan in.

@AWeaver42 You bring up an interesting paradox… If PPV is the same as a ticket price, and a person will not go to the race in person nor by the PPV, then are they really a sprint car fan? What is a track promoter to do if they won’t buy a ticket or buy a PPV?

1. People aren't gonna pay PPV, the services won't have the income needed to sustain the infrastructure at that point. 2. I've still yet to see a contract from any of these tracks or services that indicates what theyre paid and how theyre paid. Might need increased, might not.

@carson_macedo @CHMetallicorey @SprintCarUnl @LiveDirtUpdates @DB3Inc @dirtrackr @braddoty18 @_EricArnold The Grove ran unopposed 🤷🏼‍♂️ But… Streaming is still holding people back from the weekly shows (IMHO) 1) Switch to PPV or 2) Increase track % from the subscription services (DV / Flo) All I know is I would never want to be in a promoter’s shoes

At least this new rule (where you go to the rear of the field after doing a 360) is better than the blend rule and how inconsistently it was applied.
