Had this lecturer …he came to class one day and warned us not to call him after 8 PM. Said his wife didn’t appreciate it and he didn’t want problems in his home. Also, if your cleavage is revealing, he will send you out of class and tell you, you are distracting him 🤣 Very honest man, and we all loved his dedication to his job so much.

The biggest barrier to menstrual health isn’t cost, it’s silence. When fathers speak, stigma weakens. When teachers educate, fear reduces. When leaders act, change happens. Break the silence. Protect dignity.

Breaking News: Captain Ibrahim Traoré goes to prison. The president of Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traoré, has become the first African leader to visit prisoners in prison. On Wednesday, April 22, Traoré made a stopover at the Baporo correctional facility in the Sanguié province, Nando region. He went there and encouraged prisoners who are working corn on the 40-hectare piece of land. “Prison must be humane. We are a society,” Traore said. “We are not barbarians, and we are not violent. We are an African society, and in Africa, respect for human beings is something deeply ingrained in our culture. So, regardless of the situation a person finds themselves in, they must be treated with a minimum of respect,” the head of state emphasized. The prison system under Traoré has been reformed, giving prisoners dignity and ensuring they have skills so that, upon leaving, they can easily integrate into society. The Baporo Penitentiary Center is an open-environment prison where inmates engage in agricultural and pastoral production activities. “We do not want our prisons to resemble those of colonialist countries. We have decided to humanize our prisons (...) and we will reduce the number of our prisons and concentrate them in production areas like this one,” Captain Ibrahim Traoré told the prisoners and authorities. He, however, encouraged the inmates to remain positive and to continue learning. “The Ministry of Justice will support you so that you become model citizens of tomorrow,” he reassured them. The Baporo correction center is a two-story building built for suitable accommodation. According to the Minister of Justice, Rodrigue Edasso Bayala, the building, costing approximately 500 million CFA francs, provides all the necessary amenities to preserve human dignity in detention. With a capacity of 500 places, this infrastructure increases the capacity of the center and significantly improves detention conditions for better performance by inmates. As a penitentiary center with an agricultural focus, the CPAB produced 240 tons of crops in 2025, and for 2026, the center aims to cultivate more than 300 hectares for an expected production of 782.5 tons.

Thursday, 22 April 2021. Around this time, I listened to the worst voice note I ever received thus far. It was my mom telling me my dad had died. He died at 1:30 AM, but my mom left us to sleep because she didn’t want us to lose sleep. She was at the hospital for 4 good hours alone with his body. Till date, I still believe he’s going to come back. I still get dreams of him telling me not to cry. We were all very close to my father, but I was the closest. My alpha male…he did no wrong in my eyes🤣 and this frustrated my mom sometimes. People were scared for me and how I was going to survive. We survived the pain nonetheless. It’s still very hard, but we have learned to live with the pain. One thing I am forever grateful for is the relationship we had with our father. He was such a soft spoken man with a very contagious laughter. He only spoke when necessary. He respected himself and others so much and everyone loved this about him. He was extremely intelligent and made sure he passed down every knowledge and skill he had. This is how I know his life was a fulfilled one. “You have not truly lived until you pass down every knowledge you have”. He gathered the street boys of Ayaba street and taught them tennis free of charge. All of them are now abroad. They are the ones who sponsored his funeral. Not to talk of German and Engineering he taught. Most of my values, especially honesty, I copied from my father. He was a GREAT MAN! If you still have your lovely father alive, spend time with him and cherish every moment. ❤️ Oh! This day also happens to be my parents’ wedding anniversary.

People are in the comments saying a nurse leaving the club and going straight to the hospital after is "work life balance". There's a reason why certain professions require you to have a calling.

The number of "missing person" alerts in Cameroon is getting alarming. If this is not checked quickly, we should not be surprised when headlines start pointing to a much larger issue, like human trafficking. We need systemic attention & community oversight. #Cameroon #Safety
