Hard to shake old habits? Breaking down the nighttime CS2 update 🔫
Main change this patch: full rework of the reload system.
Now if a weapon has a magazine, pressing R burns whatever’s left in the current mag and instantly swaps in a fresh full one from reserve. Ammo counter is now shown as mags / bullets / shells — depending on the gun. They also added a little bar under the counter so you can see exactly how full your current mag is.
In other words: the old habit of reloading after every single shot is now gonna hurt you a lot more than before 🙂
ℹ️ Here’s the weapon-by-weapon breakdown after the rework:
🔽 nerfed hard

⚖️ no change
AK-47, AUG, P2000, USP-S, SG 553, XM1014, Zeus, Nova, Negev, P90
Immediate takeaways from this:
— M4A4 now looks even stronger vs M4A1-S
— CZ75 got a nice juicy buff
— On some farm guns and push weapons where you empty the mag anyway, the new system might actually feel smoother
— New meta = new market demand. Especially on liquid farm-gun skins — time to eye the whole assortment
🤓 Valve also expanded the training stuff:
Grenade guides can now be enabled in Competitive and Retakes — first 5 rounds of each half.
Plus they added basic hints for every map in the active pool.
And one small but nice QoL:
You can now join friends’ practice maps / Workshop maps straight from the friends menu if they have Open Party on.
⛔️ Btw, right on cue with the update the old vulnerability topic popped up again (legal WH via file replacement that’s been around since July) from the blogger МОЛЕКУРЯТНИК. Word of advice: don’t experiment. Even if someone swears “they don’t ban for it”, testing on your main is a terrible idea.
How do you feel about these CS2 changes, guys?
