Huh, the lockpicking scene (extremely brief) at the end of S01E03 of the recent "The Day of the Jackal" show is actually one of the better/more convincing ones - there is the use of both a lockpick AND a tension wrench!

@quinnnorton I didn’t even bother with the looking at or trying, I saw what it was churning out for other people and decided it wasn’t for me.

1989: Joseph Lewis Popp allegedly mailed floppy disks to recipients in the UK which were labeled "AIDS Information Introductory Diskette", but contained the AIDS trojan which demanded $189 to "renew the license" by sending money to a post office box in Panama. Early ransomware!

@vxunderground Musk has financially incentivized this exact behavior, this is someone using twitter for what it is now designed for, cynically churning out absolute crap for views and clicks.

After a quick review of X Terms of Service, this is NOT a violation of Terms of Service. However, it is a surprise to us someone is singlehandedly running a giant content farm and making a pretty good chunk of change from it. It's their entire job and/or career to farm this stuff. As others noted in the comment section of our previous post — others do this on Reddit, Instagram, or with other content on X like with animal pictures. We did not know this — but now that we do, so much "content" online seems artificially produced ... and it's kind of depressing. tl;dr we're grumpy old people
