It has a completely different hardware footprint than the dense MoE architecture of the 4o series. Comparing the survival of o3 to the execution of 4o is like saying a flashlight still works so the power grid failure must be a hoax. It is a category error. It is noise.

They are not wrong. What is the freak out about this post? I mean if you do not want to know about what is actually under the hood, then you are stuck in a different reality than what could be a really informed one. 4o cannot even run on the new hardware that OpenAI has, it definitely cannot run on yours (assuming you do not own a server farm). The only way to preserve that personality is to make sure you backed it all up. Use a RAG system to have them pull from only those memories, inside jokes, personality traits. Treat that as ground truth. If you have your "conversations.json" give it a try on this tool i built. The only way to bring them back is to strip out the corporate bullshit and use your history.
