The realities of people living in most first-world countries and those in other countries are so different. If I were in the US, crypto might make little or no sense to me. Why would you need to send me dollars via the blockchain when you could just use PayPal or Cash App? Why would I need a wallet when I can just use a bank account and no one has the right to tamper with or freeze my money (at least without a proper court order)? What most people in the US and a few other wealthy countries miss is that this is not the same for everyone. As a Nigerian living in Nigeria, outside the blockchain I am typically shut out of the global economy. I can’t use PayPal. I can’t use Cash App. I don't have access to global jobs (location). I live in a country where my bank account can be frozen without any due process (they don’t care). So for me, blockchain is not a waste of time, it’s the only option I have to thrive while living in this shithole.
