@jacobian@Ubiquiti Suing seems quite stupid to me but the twitter thread rather breathlessly acts as if Krebs was a paragon of virtue. Why the hyperbole? Or is the answer bird site 😔
@jacobian@Ubiquiti Not defend their choice to sue here, but the nuance of the insider responsible for the breach also being Krebs’s source (a fact Krebs was unaware of) makes this whole situation more complex than some angry tweets.
I wrote up a deep dive of the Linux random number generator highlights for the upcoming 5.17 & 5.18. There should be something for everyone in there - kernel programming, cryptography, a tiny bit of Windows reversing, and plenty of commit links. Enjoy! zx2c4.com/projects/linux…
I don’t even know what to google for: did virtualenv on macOS with Python 2 stop working entirely?
I can create a virtualenv & everything looks good but if I use its pip (yes, the correct 1), it would install globally (it doesn’t b/c I set require-virtualenv). tox is broken too.
Happy birthday @celeste_game! After three years in the making, Celeste.smc is out. I am so happy that this is finally released for the public to enjoy. 💙❤️💛

pyca/cryptography users, we're looking at deprecating several legacy algorithms but we'd like to hear from people who need them. What do you need? What are you doing with it? Please weigh in on github.com/pyca/cryptogra…
@James_Librarian It does! But we screwed up a year or two ago and never bothered to fix it so it’s not in the default search list. You can search it by adding !0 to the beginning of a search. You can actually specify any season or range that way too (e.g. !4-8)
Of COURSE I didn't save the HTML code to the webform I painstakingly built over 6 hours one day.
Next time I'll have to remember to keep it in case the webmaster goes rogue and deletes it again.
This Android 12 unlock animation is so janky on my Pixel 3a. It reminds me of how awful the "genie" window-to-dock minimizing animation was in early Mac OS X Rhapsody builds. These effects should be disabled by default on cheap/old hardware! youtu.be/pFn5vGskM5U
@reaperhulk and the @LazyFishBarrel team performed a memory "unsafety" analysis for 2021, revealing that memory safety bugs continue to dominate the total percentage of security issues on Apple’s platforms. Read more here: langui.sh/2021/12/13/app…
@durumcrustulum The only bug I had in the upgrade (laggy exchange handling in calendar) was resolved by 12.1. Very smooth in general. Other than the criminally slow patch speeds, but that’s just a macOS trademark.
