When i booked this, I was SO happy. But this was a couple years ago and at the time i didn’t have a lot of confidence. I wasn’t sure if me booking things was a fluke, i had just been recast in something and was just generally down. I showed up to this session INCREDIBLY nervous. I was going over my audition so much before hand that when it came time to record, i had memorized the audition lines (that had changed) and was accidentally saying them instead of the words on the final script 😭 But at the end of the session, which wasnt very long but felt like forever. Berry Jenkins, the OSCAR WINNING DIRECTOR, and the rest of the team watching gave me a round of applause, and he told me i’d be in this industry a long time and that he wanted to tell my agent. I’m so glad i had that experience. Every time I’m down on myself or i struggle i remember that this person, that has achieved the greatest award in (at least American) Film, said I belonged. Go watch Mufasa when it releases
