@webobll @Faj1791 No. Cruz is really polarizing but he's not "ethically challenged" like Paxton. Cruz was never impeached by Republicans. That's something even Trump can't brag about. A large majority of Texas State House Members voted to impeach Paxton. How can they credibly support Paxton?

Ken Paxton is really awful but I have to be honest, hard to see how this guy wins in texas. Beto simply did bot have this kind of baggage in 2018.

@BP3_PM @DastDn It's not that Republicans wouldn't know what to do about an opponent who is openly Christian but that their attacks would be weak and flat footed and that does seem to be the case.

@DastDn Effect of it idk, but there was an idea among Democrats that the Texas GOP wouldn't know what to do about an opponent who talks about being Christian. That's completely wrong.

That anti-Talarico ad floating around today is pretty brutal. I'm not exactly a great barometer of normie voter zeitgeist, and certainly not of Texan normie voter zeitgeist, but it seems like it would hit hard. We'll see what anti-Paxton ads will look like, I guess.

@DastDn P.S. The Democratic anti-Paxton ads will look like Cornyn's anti Paxton ads. Some of them will probably even quote what Cornyn has said about Paxton, most of it really brutal.

@DastDn It's obviously red meat for the MAGA Republican base. But I don't think it would necessarily break through to persuadable voters in the middle, especially if Paxton is the Republican nominee. Most mainstream Democratic politicians say a variation of the things Talarico says here.
