Our mandate at Reckoning Action is simple: to call out misogyny in all its forms. Accountability doesn’t stop at people we like. That’s why our work to expose Graham Platner is part of the same effort as our reporting on the Epstein class & the lawmakers that cover for them. 🧵

Because of Jenny’s bravery, Mainers now know exactly who Graham Platner is. Reckoning Action was formed to fight misogyny in all its forms. Let this be a notice to every predator in power: We won’t stay silent any longer. It’s been a privilege to help Jenny take this stand.

The powerful get to relitigate and survivors are expected to just let it happen. Not today. To every survivor watching this: your story matters, no matter how badly powerful people want to erase it.

For a long time, the unwritten rule has been that powerful men get endless second chances and infinite appeals, while the women who come forward are just expected to relive the trauma over and over again.

A quick reminder for anyone trying to rewrite history today: A jury found Donald Trump liable for sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll. An appeals court upheld it. And today, the Supreme Court officially declined to overturn it.

Rep Dingell calls out what so many women have lived: A culture that tells them to keep harassment & abuse to themselves. But enough is enough. We refuse to be complicit in a system that sacrifices women to preserve the reputation of a bad actor. Not on Capitol Hill. Not anywhere.

We deserve better than leaders who are this comfortable with a coverup.

When it’s their own, the rules don’t apply. The investigations stall. The truth never comes out. The “law and order” platform was never about accountability. It was about power over those they oppose.
