Extremely wrong. Philippine lanvuages are completely distant from Spanish and is more simolar to languages in Indonesia and Malaysia. Indonesia and Malaysia, however, have national lingua francas that are dialects of a single language. PS. Burmese is a Sino-Tibetan language.

I hate removing the audio jack, but they haven't removed it from Macs plus all the rest is honestly of little use. The only other port that I miss is the Magsafe, but Magsafe has returned to Macs once Apple realized how stupid removing it was.

@yahee_r OP was referring especially to Indonesian/Malay vs Tagalog. And a very small percentage speaking non-Austronesian languages doesn't negate that the overwhelming majority do. Plus, the issue if West Papua is politically contentious.

@redbtkn Indonesia, esp. the eastern parts, is not wholly Austronesians. There are non-Austronesian languages, and a lot of them. It is just the speakers are usually limited and prefer to talk in some forms of creolized Malay/Indonesian.

The latest satellite imagery shows an intense outflow from the southern quadrant due to an anomalous westerly wind bursts. As the conditions remain extremely favorable in the next couple of days, a rapid intensification (RI) is not ruled out. Aiding to its possible quick development is the arrival of the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) in the Western Pacific (WPAC) basin (Phase 6-7) today until this weekend. Based on the latest assessment from the models, the center of this storm may enter PAR by mid next week as either a typhoon or a super typhoon, but remains OFFSHORE and is NOT expected to make landfall in the PH landmass. Once inside PAR and named #CaloyPH by the DOST-PAGASA, it could potentially become the only third April super typhoon within PAR in the 21st century and the first time since Bising (Surigae) in 2021. Continuous monitoring is advised.
