@emotiv How far behind on orders are you? We paid for new felt pads first of Dec and still don’t have them. Within US, so it shouldn’t have been that long. Thx

And lots of the other books on the list *will* or *could* be removed when book banners learn about them. Would you teach If Beale Street Could Talk in Keller ISD? Dominicana? The Nickel Boys? Love Medicine? The House of the Spirits?

I often use this account to post lists of books challenged or removed from schools. Today I want to show you a different type of book list. This is Question 3 from last year’s AP Literature exam, with a list of suggested texts to help answer that question.

@frankstrong the character is an underdog, or faces suffering - mostly women and/or minorities are represented. So if the question is draw parallels for diff types of hardships, and learning to overcome, and you can't read about real-life problems because they are all banned... then??

Take a second to look at this list and think about it in the context of the current book-banning frenzy. What do you notice?

First week of school Day 2: The students remain undefeated and savagely honest. Comment from dude in my 1st period: “Is that supposed to be a Mohawk?” (Referencing my hair). “I’m used to seeing them be fully & taller & not hair, only skin on the sides”. 🙄Then shows me this pic:

Just landed in CA for work... and it feels lighter... I assume because of the exodus of schools last week out of the PAC-12. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Today I was fired for tweeting that first graders couldn’t sing Rainbowland by @MileyCyrus featuring @DollyParton. Tonight I have an achey breaky heart but tomorrow I’m gonna get up and keep fighting for what is right. Thanks for all the love!

Sadly, we didn't get enough people to understand the importance of a collaborative effort in time. Voters did send a message that we will support candidates from different backgrounds, experiences, & political affiliations as long as they have the knowledge & commitment to serve.

Warning, this footage is disturbing. It should also be very good evidence in court, these officers have broken the people’s trust and the law.

To celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week we are highlighting one of our amazing teachers, Ms. Lee from @OCTaylorTigers! She went into teaching to help kids learn & grow. Ms. Lee loves seeing her students have their ‘ah-ha’ moments after working hard to help them understand.
