Visited Chamoun Stadium #Beirut today, to show my admiration for the tremendous effort @RedCrossLebanon and all its staff are undertaking, with help from @RodeKruis, and to be with them on this difficult day of National Mourning. Confirmed extra Eur 6.5 mln NL humanitarian aid

100 سيارة اسعاف للصليب الاحمر اللبناني تستجيب حاليا في المناطق المستهدفة وتعمل فرقه على نقل المصابين الى المستشفيات.

Humanity Is Strongest When We Stand Together.

The @IFRC is supporting the @RedCrossLebanon as they deliver life-saving services across the country: ambulance missions, blood supply for hospitals, mobile health care, and essential aid for displaced families. Between March 2–23 alone: - 2,754 ambulance missions - 3,244 units of blood distributed - Nearly 80,000 relief items delivered - 22,000 people received primary health care But behind these numbers are families arriving at shelters with almost nothing, volunteers working under extreme risk, and communities facing uncertainty every day. Urgent needs include shelter, food, medical care, and psychological support. We call on partners, donors, and the international community to stand in solidarity. The people of Lebanon cannot face this crisis alone.

From the very first day since the escalation of hostilities in Lebanon, the Lebanese Red Cross @RedCrossLebanon has been on the front lines, serving as the country’s primary responders. Their teams are working 24/7, evacuating the injured and transporting them to safety across Lebanon. But the challenges they face remain immense. As humanitarian needs in Lebanon are growing by the day, the @IFRC has revised its emergency appeal to reach 1.2 million people across the country with life-saving services including emergency medical care, food, shelter, and clean water. Italy reaffirms its support to the #emergency response in Lebanon with a €2M contribution to @RedCrossLebanon as part of its broader €10M commitment to the Flash Appeal 🇮🇹. Today, together with the Red Cross team, we visited their operations centers and the Sports City Stadium shelter, where displaced families continue to receive essential assistance in extremely challenging conditions. In this context, it is imperative to underscore a fundamental principle: under International Humanitarian Law, #humanitarian personnel, particularly those of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, are strictly neutral and must be protected at all times. Their safety, as well as that of medical workers, facilities, and humanitarian assets, is not optional, but a legal and moral obligation.

In discussions with @RedCrossLebanon SG. @GeorgesKettaneh, #ICRC Regional Director Nicolas Von Arx acknowledged the dedication of volunteers providing lifesaving aid under challenging conditions and emphasized that healthcare personnel must be protected in accordance with #IHL.

Ambassador Svärdström visited a shelter together with @RedCrossLebanon, an important actor in the humanitarian response. The Swedish humanitarian aid package to Lebanon includes vital support to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and the Lebanese Red Cross.

يستنكر الصليب الأحمر اللبناني للإصابات التي لحقت بمسعفيه في أرنون و مجدل زون خلال الإستجابات الإنسانية لنقل المصابين من جراء العمليات العدائية. يتمنى الشفاء العاجل للمسعفين ويطالب ببذل كل الجهود من أجل حماية الطواقم الطبية و الإسعافية و بالإلتزام بتطبيق القانون الدولي الإنساني.
