India’s position in the 2017 Doklam standoff was unequivocal: trijunction boundary points cannot be settled bilaterally between two parties when a third country has a claim. New Delhi invoked this rule to prevent China and Bhutan from settling Doklam without Indian involvement, and was vindicated when Beijing disengaged. Lipulekh sits at exactly such a trijunction, where Nepal, India, and China meet. To deny Kathmandu the procedural standing that India demanded for itself at Doklam is a direct contradiction. Nepal should invoke India’s own Doklam doctrine explicitly, in its diplomatic communications and in any future discussion. myrepublica.nagariknetwork.com/news/beyond-no…

@morangdiwakar @sidhant Bro India does not acknowledge a treaty between gorkha leaders and Britishers as the republic of India came into existence only after 1947. So shouldn't you talk to Britishers?

We’re building Tier 4 vaults to store data, but we can't even verify the basic necessities for people living in villages. Without proper legal framework the data center is just a high tech filing cabinet for a surveillance state

Kyang Thang རྐྱང་ཐང་
Nepali people online from Nepal will legit produce fantasy maps out of nowhere & abuse Indians, Tibetans, Indian Nepalis as dhoti haru, bhote, etc. BUT not look at their own maps while citing the 'Treaty of Sugauli'. Nepal's official high resolution land survey maps (not fan made maps) till about 2020 leaves out Limpiydhura to India. Come 2020, and Oli suddenly ramps up a "dispute" which was technically & administratively non-existent for ~200 years. It was only "suggested" in 2000s by the Koirala govt, but yet we have Nepal's own better resolution maps here pointing to the contrary!

Nepal’s latest assertion that Lipulekh Pass belongs to them and that India and China should stay away from the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra route is not just surprising, it’s a textbook case of selective history that ignores hard reality on the ground. This pass has served as India’s established gateway to Kailash for pilgrims since 1954, decades of uninterrupted access, border infrastructure, and joint management with China at the tri-junction. GoI’s response nails it: these are unilateral, artificial enlargements of territorial claims with zero basis in historical facts or actual control. The Sugauli Treaty of 1816 never fixed the exact watershed line the way Nepal now insists, and successive Indian maps plus on-ground administration have consistently treated Lipulekh as ours. India has shown remarkable restraint by keeping the door wide open for constructive dialogue. That’s mature neighbourhood diplomacy at its best. But Nepal needs to wake up to the bigger picture. Repeated provocations like this strain the very foundations of our relationship, the open borders, the massive trade surplus India extends, the remittances that keep Nepal’s economy afloat, and the deep cultural ties millions cherish. Push too hard and India will have no choice but to recalibrate, whether it’s tighter border protocols, reviewing preferential trade terms, or focusing development aid elsewhere. The consequences won’t be abstract. They will hit Nepali farmers, traders, students, and families who rely on India every single day. No one wins when trust erodes. True friendship demands respect for facts, not political theatre. Nepal should choose dialogue and shared Himalayan heritage over manufactured disputes. India stands ready, firm on its sovereignty yet committed to peace. Let’s keep it that way. Jai Hind. 🇮🇳

@reddevilccr @FederalismNepal @MofaNepal Can you tell me why no Nepal government discussed this issue before 2020 and suddenly started discussing this issue in 2020 on the basis of a document from 200 years ago, what has Nepal been doing for 200 years?

@reddevilccr @FederalismNepal @MofaNepal I have studied this a lot, there is no evidence that Lipulekh belongs to Nepal, in fact Nepal also did not say anything on this till 2019, but as China's pressure fell on Nepal, Then Nepal started making these meaningless statements without any concrete evidence.

@reddevilccr @FederalismNepal @MofaNepal Nepal has no proof that this part belongs to it. The Kala River forms the border between the two countries and Lipulekh completely belongs to India. It has always been a part of India, but now Nepal is saying this in favor of China. This doesn't matter
