Nepal's official high resolution land survey maps (not fan made maps) till about 2020 leaves out Limpiydhura to India. Come 2020, and Oli suddenly ramps up a "dispute" which was technically & administratively non-existent for ~200 years. It was only "suggested" in 2000s by the Koirala govt, but yet we have Nepal's own better resolution maps here pointing to the contrary!

Push too hard and India will have no choice but to recalibrate, whether it’s tighter border protocols, reviewing preferential trade terms, or focusing development aid elsewhere. The consequences won’t be abstract. They will hit Nepali farmers, traders, students, and families who rely on India every single day. No one wins when trust erodes. True friendship demands respect for facts, not political theatre. Nepal should choose dialogue and shared Himalayan heritage over manufactured disputes.
