It’s okay to not charge and have a lil house session. It’s also valid to charge and host a tournament. It’s their spot, why not just host your own the way you want at that point?

Maybe I come from a different time but I and others gladly tossed my homie 5-10 bucks for letting us play marvel in his house or garage or whatever every week until 3am. I really miss those times and would gladly do it again…
