@AnnasQuestions Hi Anna. Glennie Kindred's books are wonderful. And Sharon Blackie's When Women Rose Rooted? Also Martin Shaw's School of Myth?

@johnthackara @GeorgeMonbiot I agree about the choir and preaching language, but I did like the 'using our new knowledge of social tipping points to create the shift we want to see.' and that sense of just keeping on going and eventually we'll reach that tipping point. Using other methods than preaching...

@redfishnat The language of choirs and preaching doesn't work for me @GeorgeMonbiot. Climate scientists have been preaching for 40 years - and look where that got us. I'm also not ready to label those damaged & demeaned by the system as 'opponents': industrial workers, miners, small farmers.

This thread esp. nos 15-17 - “ We *should* preach to the choir, but keep expanding the choir, pushing out the concentric circles until we reach the 25% penetration of a new perspective or a new idea that triggers social tipping.”
George Monbiot@GeorgeMonbiot

15. So what do we do? Two things, I think. First, we spell out our theory of change. I’m pretty clear about what mine is: using our new knowledge of social tipping points to create the shift we want to see. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

@LilyPiachaud Is this enquiry still live for you Lily? I just found your original tweet in an open tab from back in July... it's something I'm very interested in, would love to chat if you have capacity.

I have very, very much enjoyed these conversations so far. Learning about alternative practices + ways of organising, from the minutiae to the big picture, has given me a lot of hope for the future 💫. If you're experimenting in this space and we haven't spoken, I'd love to chat
Lily Piachaud@LilyPiachaud

🧵Are you experimenting with new forms of organisation? Or building organisational systems and processes that replace traditional ways of doing things that are no longer fit for purpose? [1/8]

So despite a petition, a survey, and a majority vote showing that @theRSAorg staff would like to unionise with @iwgb, management are refusing voluntary recognition and insist we'd be better off with a staff representative group🙄Here’s why we want union recognition instead: a 🧵
