The FA really needs to consider moving Crystal Palace v Arsenal to Saturday. Arsenal already wrapped up the Premier League title, Palace are safe in mid-table, and both have massive European finals next week (Conference League for Palace, UCL for Arsenal). Zero competitive stakes on Sunday-give them the extra 24 hours recovery.

What happened to the couple set a dangerous precedent for Black Britons in the UK, and since the scandal broke in 2017, Hetticia and Vanderbilt have not stopped fighting for justice into their 70s. We cannot forget them and others
Melissa Sigodo@melissasigodo

British army veteran Hetticia & her husband Vanderbilt who lost their citizenship due to the Home Office have been battling 5 years for compensation Now in their 70s they say that ‘when the Home office is ticking their boxes, they don’t realise they’re ticking our lives away’

@DKingTelegraph This was the issue with West Ham's disallowed equaliser against Arsenal. The reason Pablo's in a position to obstruct Raya is Trossard has pushed Pablo into Raya, but because the ball wasn't yet in play...

To clarify this point: VAR would have awarded a penalty for Spurs last night but the officials were hamstrung because the ball wasn’t deemed to be in play when the offence was taking place, therefore they couldn’t do anything.
Dominic King@DKingTelegraph

So a player can be booked for making a foul in the penalty area, wrestling someone to the floor. But because the corner “hasn’t quite” been taken, it remains a foul and a booking - yet it isn’t a penalty, according to VAR. Make it make sense. The game is absurd now.

@flsunman 2/2 It's the last line from 'On his blindness' The reason Biden's appropriation of Milton for the Irish cause was so hilarious is that Milton was a huge supporter of Oliver Cromwell. It was only his blindness that saved him from imprisonment at the Restoration (of the monarchy)!

@flsunman We covered Paradise Lost Books 1&2 in 12th/13th grade. Milton is widely considered to be a better composer of sonnets than Shakespeare. There was a hilarious instance when Pres. Biden addressing a group of US airmen, claimed him as Irish: "they also serve who stand and wait" 1/2

@PitchsidePub @FansAgainstVAR_ Ackshually, footie began with two officials on the pitch like they have in field hockey. If the two umps couldn't agree on a call, it was referred to the timekeeper - the referee, who in other words started out as the 19th century VAR!

*never* let Americans anywhere near the sport.
The Pitchside Pub@PitchsidePub

@Skyblue160587 @FansAgainstVAR_ I’ve also argued that there should be two officials out on the pitch so there are better sight lines thus less need for VAR. Basketball is a great example. Three officials all with zones to watch. It could be adjusted for football. One official just can’t see everything.

Everton should have been awarded a penalty in the 2-1 defeat at West Ham for handball by Mateus Fernandes, the KMI Panel says. "He punched the ball," Moyes said after the game. The panel voted 4:1 that it was an error by both the referee and VAR. 👇 bbc.co.uk/sport/football…

There were found to be more VAR errors in the Premier League in the recent review. In gameweek 35 there were three VAR errors and one on-field error that didn't meet the VAR threshold.

Football Twitter is an awful, awful place. In the replies to this I’ve got international fans telling me, someone who was actually in the stadium yesterday, that the live experience wasn’t ruined by waiting five minutes for a decision. Others are calling it a conspiracy. Others are so blinded by bias they can’t look at football objectively for even a second. First and foremost, I was there, amongst 60,000 other fans. If you weren’t in the stadium, don’t talk about the atmosphere or experience as if you were. It was a massive moment for both clubs, Arsenal fighting for the title, West Ham fighting for survival. And for the record, yes, it’s a foul on Raya. I’ve never said otherwise. The issue is that it’s one of many fouls in the box in that exact moment, and one of countless fouls you see every single weekend that usually get ignored. Yesterday it was given. Other weeks it isn’t. That inconsistency is what feels wrong. If we can’t agree on that fundamental point, we’ll never agree on football. Inside the stadium, nobody had a clue what was going on. Football is about emotion. It’s about chaos, last minute goals, moments that make the ground explode. The problem isn’t that the goal was ruled out, it’s the endless delays, the inconsistency, and the feeling that nobody really knows what is or isn’t allowed anymore. And honestly, that just feels wrong.
Jamie.Talks@JamieBoyce

The game’s gone. VAR and referees deciding matches every single week. A last minute winner ruled out for a “foul” that took 5 minutes to find. Nobody in the stadium had a clue what was happening. Modern football is becoming unwatchable. The sport has never felt more ruined
