Our medical team at Bondo Sub County Hospital has made history by successfully delivering a baby girl from a rare, life threatening abdominal (ectopic) pregnancy. Mama Nancy Akinyi and her 1kg miracle baby, Blessing Violet, are now healthy and discharged after 3 months of dedicated, round the clock care in our new Newborn Baby Unit (NBU). This is what happens when clinical excellence, teamwork, and compassion converge. I highly commend Dr. Evans Ogoti, our nurses, CHPs, and the entire theatre and NBU teams for their unwavering dedication to saving lives. To ensure dignified, quality care for every resident, we are building an ultra modern theatre complex with an integrated NBU and a new inpatient complex at Bondo Hospital. We are also recruiting more doctors, nurses, and clinical officers by July to boost our capacity. Through these deliberate efforts, Siaya is now ranked 9th out of 47 counties in reducing maternal mortality. No mother should lose her life while bringing forth new life.
