Alex Cora said if there had been runners on first and second when Marcelo Mayer stepped up to the plate in the 6th, they probably would’ve pinch-hit him for Monasterio because they like the matchup.
I still question how the decision to platoon Mayer with IKF has ever made sense

After being released earlier this week, veteran IF Brendan Rodgers has re-signed with the Red Sox on a two-year minor league deal. Allows him to rehab his shoulder surgery and stay with the team thru 2027.

Profar is in the middle of a 3yr/$42M deal with Atlanta that has two seasons left on it. He was set to make $15M in 2026 ($14M AAV) but the Braves won't pay any of it this yr. Their current OF is Acuna/Harris/Yaz, and they now have no DH Squinting to find a Yoshida or Duran fit

If Sox had signed Bregman instead of Ranger I think everyone would be super high on them. Several projections have Ranger being worth more than Bregman in 2026, and I really wonder who will be worth more over the life of the contract. But I get the outcry because it seems like there’s zero plan. Several holes remain and the roster construction just feels… off.
