I really like them as a peer into the more casual aspect of ancient life. I think it helped humanize their species more, since previously the majority of fans kind of viewed them under a spectacle of them all being huge and pompous (since that's how almost every other echo is)

I don't think she shrugs off Pebbles having caused her collapse so easily. Prior to her collapse she was very frustrated and terrified, as seen in one of the SI pearls. It's just that she has found the inner strength to surpass those emotions later on, and I find that inspiring.

I'm gonna elaborate on this a little more. I think the fact that Moon as a character is very kind doesn't hit as hard if you also don't consider that she's a disabled person who has been deeply hurt by someone she thought close to her. Her kindness is low energy and patient.

I think people draw her smiling too often and too widely. She does try to make the best of her situation, but it feels patronizing to see her depicted as constantly cheerful, or "the sunshine of the group". Her name is literally Moon. She always evokes a deep sense of melancholy.
