Being out of Raleigh for a bit and back in my other job is a great reminder of why the work in Raleigh is so important to so many….especially when it comes to healthcare. My day consists of prior authorization conversations on repeat with patients. “Yes sir, I know your medication has been covered for months but now it requires prior authorization. Let me call your doctor so they can fill out tons of paperwork to get the medicine you need covered again.” 🤦🏻‍♀️ I proudly support prior authorization reform!

CARE FIRST Act is filed. We stand ready to keep insurance companies from elbowing their way in between patients and their doctors. #ncpol

I had a great time with @UNCEM journal club last night. Discussed tools for physician advocacy and the need for their voices to be heard.

Some NPs are incredibly well trained, diligent partners in caring for our patients. Others get a diploma mill degree with little clinical skill or knowledge. Both have the same license & ability to take care of your family.

Is the Nurse Practitioner Job Boom Putting US #HealthCare at Risk?⁩ “…NPs increasingly treat patients independently, including in specialty practices & emergency rooms. When they aren’t well trained, the results can be tragic.” #MedicalSchoolMatters bloomberg.com/news/features/…

We were glad that Dr. Blake Kruger completed his policy elective with us! Dr. Kruger (a resident at @Duke_FamMed) met with state officials as part of learning effective advocacy. He met with Rep. @reeder08, @marciahmorey, and several others. Thanks for joining us, Dr. Kruger!
